Brad Keselowski Confirmed His Unsuccessful Offer to Buy RFK Racing

Andrew Ravens Sat, October 24, 2026 at 6:48 PM UTC · 2 min read About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Brad Keselowski made an offer to buy all of RFK Racing , and the team's owners turned it down. The 2012 NASCAR Cup Series champion confirmed the bid in a report published Friday.

Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal first reported the bid. Keselowski confirmed it to Stern.

"I would say yes, there is truth that I made an unsolicited bid to buy RFK Racing; that was denied in the last week," Keselowski said.

RFK's majority owners are Jack Roush and Fenway Sports Group. Keselowski joined the team in 2022 as the driver of the No. 6 Ford and a minority owner.

Keselowski declined to say who else was involved in the bid, according to On3 .

He made clear that he still wants to own a team.

"As Madison Avenue has really taken a whole new notice of NASCAR, and the team ownership model in particular after the settlement of the lawsuit, I think there is increasing interest… rapidly increasing interest… in NASCAR team ownership. And it's something that I desire to be a part of," Keselowski said.

The lawsuit he referred to was the antitrust case 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports brought against NASCAR. The sides settled in December 2025, and the deal made Cup Series charters permanent.

RFK announced Sept. 29 that Keselowski will leave the team after this season. RFK president Chip Bowers said the two sides were not aligned on a new deal.

Keselowski wants to keep driving for three to five more years, while RFK wants him to shift to competition matters, RACER reported.

"There are more opportunities than I think you guys are aware of right now, and that's OK," Keselowski said at Charlotte.

Keselowski spoke about his driving at Charlotte Motor Speedway earlier this month. He has won once since joining RFK, at Darlington Raceway in May 2024.

"I know I'm capable of winning more," Keselowski said, according to RACER . He pointed to "eight or nine second-place finishes" in that span.

"I feel like in Tier 1 equipment, I can win a lot more races," Keselowski said. At the same press conference, he said RFK is "clearly" not Tier 1 , though he added, "I don't think our cars are awful," according to On3 .

Dale Earnhardt Jr. defended Keselowski's time at RFK this week, crediting him with changing the team's culture.

Keselowski has six career Cup wins at Talladega Superspeedway, where he races Sunday. He has three races left with RFK and has not said what comes next in his motorsports career.
