National Tight Ends Day: Here's how George Kittle, more TEs performed in fantasy football in Week 7

The holiday lands on Week 7 of the 2026 NFL season and it always creates a fun narrative in fantasy football. Here we're going to look at all the top tight end performances and touchdowns both for fantasy and the holiday.

We have some of the top tight ends in fantasy — Trey McBride, Brock Bowers and Sam LaPorta — operating in the afternoon window right now. We'll update as they make an impact on this holiday. But for now, let's go over the early window and how tight ends performed.

We'd been waiting for Tucker Kraft to join the fantasy party this season. Of course, it happens on this day. Kraft is already off to a hot start and scored the first TD for the Packers in their matchup with the Lions.

"Mr. Tight End" George Kittle had a solid day for the 49ers despite the loss to the Falcons. It always seems like Kittle shows out on National Tight Ends day and Sunday was no different as the veteran led all San Fran pass-catchers with eight grabs on 10 targets for 88 yards, though he didn't get a score. He did lose a fumble to bump his fantasy total down but is still pacing toward being a TE1 in Week 7 with 10.8 points.

A handful of other veteran names got there for fantasy at the tight end slot, including T.J. Hockenson (11.5 FPTS), Darren Waller (11.5 FPTS) and the always-talked-about Kyle Pitts Sr. (10.7 FPTS). Waller's whole day was built on a 50-yard catch-and-run for a TD. Scores saved the day for managers of both Hockenson and Pitts.

The unlikely hero of the holiday was Jets TE Mason Taylor, who has a chance to finish as the TE1 in Week 7 if elite players like Bowers, McBride and Tucker Kraft can't overtake him. Taylor scored twice for the Jets in their tough loss at home to the Dolphins, finishing with five catches for 62 yards, good for 22.7 fantasy points.

As is tradition, we also had some duds from the position on National Tight Ends Day. The most notable was from breakout fantasy star Isaiah Likely, who had just two catches for 12 yards in the Giants' OT win over the Texans. He had posted double-digit fantasy points in three straight games, two of which he crossed the 20-point mark. We'll see if Likely and new starter J.J. McCarthy can get on the same page after the Week 8 bye.

We also had plenty of surprises and random touchdown scorers to go over at tight end.

-Rams tight end Davis Allen scored a touchdown on his one catch in the afternoon slate.

-Greg Dulcich had a solid 5-86-0 line in the Miami win to get into TE1 territory for the week. He had a combined 21.2 FPTS in his first five games of the season.

-Mike Gesicki and the Bengals exploded in the second half for a win over the Ravens coming off the bye. Gesicki was quiet but did catch a six-yard TD. Fellow Cincy TE Drew Sample had a better day (2-24-1).

-Falcons' Nick Muse and Steelers' Darnell Washington round out the TD scorers from the early window on Sunday at tight end.
